Your first taste of the English Foxhunting Tradition

This is an itinerary based on a trip we ran in the Spring of 2014 and is perfect for anyone looking for an introduction to hunting in England. The original trip was planned as a graduation celebration for high-school senior, Margaret. It was an introduction to English country life; a chance to explore London for the first time and, of course, an unforgettable debut in the hunting field.

The hunting is carefully chosen to give a gently graduated entry into the field. Your  vacation will start with a quiet day with the New Forest Hounds and build throughout the  week as your confidence increases.

On top of our normal itinerary we added two special extras to our Spring 2014 trip. First, was a box of clues sent out some six months before the trip to coincide with our guests’ birthday. The hunting print, stock-tie and British flag soon gave her a good idea of where she might be travelling to… Secondly, we commissioned a film-maker to shadow the trip and produce a film of the vacation. For a young foxhunter visiting England for the first time this was a really special memento: not least because Margaret has her first hedge-jumping experience captured on film!

Don’t forget that we cater to both riders and non-riders. In Margaret’s case her Mum and Dad didn’t ride: Ben looked after them on the riding days.
